Lucas County Canine Care & Control Has Month Long Special: Christmas in July An Adoption Special

The Lucas County Canine Care & Control is featuring the third annual month-long adoption special: Christmas in July! For the entire month of July the adoption fee for all dogs and puppies will be discounted to only $25 plus the purchase of a license ($25 in Lucas County). The adoption fee is normally $100.

As of today, 57 dogs and puppies are searching for new homes at the Canine Care Center, with more dogs going up for adoption each day. In a typical month we adopt out approximately 45 dogs or puppies. Our goal for this month is to double that number!

“We have more dogs coming in to the shelter each day, and July is the month that we take in more dogs than any other,” said Julie Lyle, Director. “We have an abundance of wonderful dogs up for adoption that have all been through both behavioral and medical screening, have had their vaccines, worming, heartworm test and are spayed or neutered and microchipped. With this many dogs coming in the doors and our wish to get as many safe dogs as possible out into new homes, we need the help of the public to come in and adopt.”

Not able to adopt right now, but still looking to help? The Lucas County Canine Care & Control Center is looking for volunteers, who are at least 18 years of age, as well as donated goods such as blankets, towels, and dog supplies.
