Law Enforcement Division

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office operates a full service Law Enforcement Division which is comprised of the following sections: Field Operations Section, Record Bureau, Communications Section, and Investigative Services Section. Deputies patrol approximately 249.46 miles of county roads, 224.44 miles of township roads, and 66.06 miles of state roads, as well as downtown Toledo in the area of the Juvenile Treatment Center and Adult Probation. The Investigative Services Section consists of the Detective Bureau, and Evidence/Property Room. The Communications Section is responsible for dispatching for seven area fire departments and nine area police agencies. All 9-1-1 calls for service are handled by this Section. The Record Bureau is responsible for maintaining all General Offense Reports and citations. The Record Bureau enters and maintains all Lucas County Common Pleas Court warrants, as well as warrants from the suburban courts. All sex offender registration and concealed firearm registrations are handled by the Record Bureau.
