Suburban Courts' Services
This program provides victim support services to victims and witnesses of violent crimes in Sylvania and Maumee, two of the Municipal Courts in suburban Lucas County. By working with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, the courts, and probation departments, Suburban Courts' Services makes the criminal justice system more "user friendly" to victims of violent crime.
Our advocates:
- Inform victims of their rights
- Notify victims of court dates and continuances
- Accompany victims to court proceedings
- Assist victims in filing for compensation through the Ohio Attorney General's Victims of Crime Compensation Program
- Provide referrals for other services
- Provide VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) referrals and registration
- Assist victims with victim impact statements
- Provide short term crisis intervention and employer intervention
