The Clerk of Courts is the engine that drives the court system.  The Clerk of Courts is custodian for all civil, felony criminal and domestic relation court pleadings including case filings, docketing, indexing and preservation of those documents.  The Automobile and Watercraft Division of the Clerk of Courts processes over 150,000 title related transactions yearly for the citizens of Lucas County and is an authorized United States Passport Acceptance Agent for the United States Department of State.  The Automobile and Watercraft Division has three branch offices located in downtown Toledo, Oregon, and Sylvania.  The Clerk of Courts oversees the Lucas County Imaging Lab and the Central Records Center for Lucas County.   The Imaging Lab is responsible for the imaging and the storage of official documents for many Lucas County agencies.  The Central Records Center stores and maintains a depository for Lucas County departmental public records in accordance with the Ohio Public Records Law.
