Forfeited Land Sale
The second Forfeited Land Sale of 2009 will be held on Wednesday, September 30, according to Anita Lopez, Lucas County Auditor. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the sale will commence at 10:00 a.m. The sale will be held in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the first floor of One Government Center. Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 160 registrants will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.

The parcels of real estate being sold are tax delinquent, and have been twice offered for sale by the County Sheriff. These parcels are sold on behalf of the State of Ohio and must, by law, be offered at public auction annually. The County Auditor’s Office provides no guarantees regarding title, possession, or any other matter. All parcels that are auctioned on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 will be in rem (potential lien) or regular.

The bidding begins at $60 per parcel. Cash, checks, or money orders are the only acceptable forms of payment. A successful bidder must have a deposit of 15 percent or $150, whichever is greater. If a bid is $150 or less, the purchase price must be paid in full, plus fees of $33.94.  Please read the complete Rules of Sale before you bid on a parcel.
