The Forfeited Land sale is held in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the first floor of One Government Center. Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 160 registrants are admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
Forfeited land sales in Lucas County occur annually with this year's sale (2013) being held on December 5th. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the sale commences at 10:00 a.m. The sale is held in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the first floor of One Government Center. Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 160 registrants are admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
The bidding begins at $60 per parcel. The parcels of real estate sold are tax delinquent, and have been twice offered for sale by the County Sheriff. These parcels are sold on behalf of the State of Ohio and must, by law, be offered at public auction annually. The County Auditor’s Office provides no guarantees regarding title, possession, or any other matter. All parcels that are auctioned will be in rem (potential lien) or regular. Each parcel must be paid for immediately at the close of sale. No checks, credit or debit cards are accepted. Deposits are accepted in cash only.

Preliminary research may also be conducted at the Auditor’s Real Estate Information System Online (AREIS).
