2015 Forfeited Land Sale - November 19
Forfeited Land sales in Lucas County occur annually with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the sale commencing at 10:00 a.m. The sale is held in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the first floor of One Government Center. Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 160 registrants are admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
The parcels of real estate sold are tax delinquent, and have been twice offered for sale by the County Sheriff. These parcels are sold on behalf of the State of Ohio and must, by law, be offered at public auction annually. The County Auditor’s Office provides no guarantees regarding title, possession, or any other matter. All parcels that are auctioned will be in rem (potential lien) or regular. Each parcel must be paid for immediately at the close of sale. No checks, credit or debit cards are accepted. Deposits are accepted in cash only.
Please Note: Important changes have been made to the bidding procedures. Please read the complete Rules of Sale (quick links on right side of page) for a complete list of changes. Bidding begins (per O.R.C. sec 5721.16) at the lesser of (1) fair market value, or (2) the total amount of taxes owed, per parcel. A successful bidder must have a deposit of 50 percent or $300, whichever is greater. If a bid is $300 or less, the purchase price must be paid in full. All bids or sales will be required to pay additional fees of $74.00 which will be due on the day of sale.
