Licensing
Overview

The Auditor's office is the focal point in Lucas County for issuance of licenses for dogs, kennels, vendors and cigarettes. Dog licenses comprise the largest number of licenses sold. The annual dog registration is a service designed to benefit the animal, its owner and the community.

Vendor licenses authorize businesses to sell tangible property to the public and collect sales tax, a part of which is returned for use on the local level.

Important Changes Regarding Cigarette Licenses

Effective January 1, 2010, the recently enacted budget bill, House Bill 1, made changes to the fees, the distribution of revenue, and the structure of the cigarette licensing provisions.

The Application for Retail Cigarette Dealer's License (CIG 40) has been revised to reflect H.B. 1 changes.

Vendor Applications
  • Request for Retail Cigarette Dealer's License
  • Request for Vendor's License to Make Taxable Sales
