Agency Goals
The Lucas County Department of Planning and Development works with the One-Stop Partners to provide employment and training assistance to job-seekers.  The agency's goal is to assist job-seekers, employed workers, and young people to find jobs and advance in their careers. 

Agency Services

Job-seekers choose their own menu of services, which can range from basic job leads to training services. All job-seeker services are free.  A complete calendar of workshops is available on the OhioMeansJobs Lucas County website.

The Lucas County Department of Planning and Development, along with the One-Stop Partners, provide the following job-seeker services:
  • Orientation to available resources
  • Job leads
  • Basic skills assessment
  • Labor market information
  • Career exploration
  • Access to the resource room, which includes:
    • Information about a large variety of programs and services to meet the job-seekers needs
    • Free use of computers, phones, fax machines, and copying machines
  • Internet accounts and Internet job websites
  • Education and training information
  • Financial aid information
  • Computer tutorials in basic keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Job search workshops, including:
    • Resume and cover letter development
    • Transferable skills
    • Interviewing
    • Organizing a job search
    • Other timely topics
  • Career planning and counseling
  • Job clubs
  • Job fairs
  • Job placement services
  • Referrals to other agencies and resources
