Services and Responsibilities


In the State of Ohio, the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer in each county. As Sheriff of Lucas County, he has a vast amount of responsibility to the citizens he serves. The Sheriff must provide the following services:
  • Law enforcement
  • Court security
  • Service of papers
  • Jail operations
  • Extradition process
  • Transportation of prisoners
  • Maintain full police jurisdiction in all the municipalities, villages, and townships within Lucas County

Lucas County Anti-Bullying Campaign

As part of the Lucas County Anti-Bullying Campaign, the Lucas County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Lucas County Commissioner's Office is pleased to offer assistance to anyone who wants to report bullying or other forms of school related issues.
